“SCO grieves the loss of Police Chief Doug Palson. He dedicated his professional life to police leadership and passionately led the force in protecting 10 First Nations,” said SCO Acting Grand Chief Cornell McLean. “He was a policing trailblazer and a staunch advocate for the safety and well-being of our Nations and peoples.”

SCO offers heartfelt and sincere condolences to Chief Palson’s family, friends, and his MNFPS colleagues.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you deal with this tragedy.

It will be hard also on those who will now investigate the fire at Chief Palson’s home.  We stand with the MFNPS as they work with Manitoba RCMP and the Office of the Fire Commissioner to investigate the circumstances of the deadly fire.
