The Southern Chiefs’ Organization (SCO) is hosting our fourth annual First Nations Veterans Summit to celebrate, honour, and support First Nations Veterans.

Registration and a hot breakfast will be available starting at 8:30 am.
The gathering is open to First Nations Veterans, currently serving Canadian Armed Forces members, RCMP Veterans, families and caregivers, and Veteran service organizations.
This year’s theme is “Serving the Unseen.” The theme focuses on issues that do not always receive enough attention in the Veteran community, including the experiences of military families, Veterans living with service-related mental health challenges, soldier suicide, and Veteran homelessness.
Our keynote speaker is Dennis MacKenzie, a Canadian Army Veteran and advocate who will share his lived experience navigating mental health challenges after service. He will also perform his song “Lanterns,” which honours those lost to suicide and brings attention to the reality of soldier suicide.
We will also host a Veteran family member panel, where family members will share their experiences and perspectives.
