The Southern Chiefs’ Organization invites you to an information session with a Residential School Research Team member from 9 am to 3 pm on Thursday, February 12.
The session is taking place at Huddle Selkirk at 365 Main Street in Selkirk, Manitoba.
You’ll have an opportunity to learn about:
- The My Records, My Choice campaign
- Searching and acquiring records from Archives Canada, churches, university archives, Vital Statistics, and Hudson’s Bay Company Archives
- Completing claim forms, including the Federal Indian Hospital Settlement claims
- Reconnecting with family members and restoring family history
- Locating unmarked graves of children and people who attended residential schools, day schools, Indian hospitals, tuberculosis sanatoriums, and other institutions
