Survivors of residential schools are invited to attend a Medicine Doll Workshop.
Date: July 28, 2023
Time: 10:00am – 4:00pm
Lunch is included.
Location: 1555 St. James Street, Winnipeg
Facilitated by Diane Maytwayashing, this workshop aims to support Survivors as they reclaim and acknowledge a lost part of their childhood. Some Survivors remember learning they had to leave their personal items at home. This workshop provides an opportunity to remember any dolls that Survivors had to leave behind when they were sent to attend residential schools.
Bus tickets will be available to participants.
Registration is free and spaces are limited.

The Southern Chiefs’ Organization’s Survivors’ Healing Program is hosting this workshop. Our program provides support, information, advocacy, and systems navigation for southern First Nations citizens who are impacted by residential and day schools, the Sixties Scoop, the child welfare system, and the national emergency of missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, two spirit, and gender-diverse people (MMIWG2S+).
