The 2025 Indspire Awards: Celebrating Indigenous Excellence
The Indspire Awards represent the highest honour the Indigenous community bestows upon its own people. After 31 years, the Indspire Awards have honoured over 400 First Nations, Inuit, and Métis individuals who demonstrate outstanding achievement across Turtle Island and beyond. Their stories are shared in a nationally broadcast celebration that showcases the diversity of Indigenous peoples in Canada.

Spence Neighbourhood Association: Community Connecting Night
Join the Spence Neighbourhood Association’s next Community Connecting Night on June 17, 2025!
For this month’s Community Connecting Night, it will instead be held on the third Tuesday of the month in celebration of National Indigenous Peoples Day!
Enjoy Indigenous performances from the Binesi Ikwéwag Singers and hoop dancing from Melvin Starr and his family! Hosted by Comedian Issa Kixen.

Manitoba Bar Association’s National Indigenous Peoples Day event is a hallmark event for Manitoba’s legal and Indigenous communities. This will be an evening filled with entertainment will be an excellent opportunity for everyone to come together in celebration.

Join the Circles of Reconciliation on Friday, June 20 for their 3rd annual NIPD Community Barbecue!

Waterways: National Indigenous Peoples Day
Join Waterways in celebrating Indigenous People’s Day!
The event is free, but all participants are required to sign-up before joining the paddling fun.
Be sure to sign up early to reserve your place in a canoe if you are coming for the morning paddle from St. Vital.

Children’s Museum: National Indigenous Peoples Day
Join the Children’s Museum on as we celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day.
This is a day to celebrate and learn about the history and diversity of Indigenous Peoples in Manitoba. Create a bison herd with Ojibwe artist Alice RL, experience traditional storytelling with respected Elder Barb Nepinak, help us build a teepee in Time Squared, and join us for story times at 12 pm and 2 pm.

Goldeyes Game: Celebrating Indigenous Peoples Day
In celebration of National Indigenous Peoples Day, the Winnipeg Goldeyes are hosting a night dedicated to honoring Indigenous culture and community. The event will take place on:

Manitoba Museum: Bead-a-Thon
Join the Manitoba Museum for a fundraising Bead-a-Thon on Sunday June 22, hosted by esteemed Cree-Métis beadwork artist Cynthia Boehm, and Manitoba Museum’s Head of Indigenous Programming & Engagement, Tashina Houle-Gaywish.
The day will include mini ‘learn to stitch’ tutorials, pop-up visits from our stunning historical beadwork collection, and most importantly, time with community to share, learn, and bead.
