How to Help Citizens Impacted by a Major Fire in Winnipeg

January 15, 2026

A devastating fire at the vacant ManWin Hotel on Main Street in Winnipeg has affected our unsheltered relatives and others who depend on services in the area.

The Main Street Project shelter is located next door—it has been displaced because of the fire.

Immediate support for our unsheltered relatives who access Main Street Project services is now urgent, especially in this cold weather.

The Southern Chiefs’ Organization (SCO) is sharing information on how you can help.

Please consider donating warm winter clothing for people who rely on shelters and warming spaces.

Items such as warm jackets, toques/hats, mittens, scarves, socks, blankets, and other winter gear can make a real difference.

Help keep our relatives safe during these harsh conditions.

You can drop donations off at the following Winnipeg locations:

Siloam Mission

  • 300 Princess Street (entrance on Henry Avenue), Winnipeg
  • Phone: 204-956-4344
  • Toll free: 1-866-648-4673

Their donation centre is open Monday to Saturday from 8 am to 4 pm.

N’Dinawemak – Our Relatives’ Place

  • 190 Disraeli Freeway, Winnipeg
  • Phone: 204-944-0055

The shelter is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

If you can, please try to call ahead before dropping off donations to confirm current needs and hours.

The Main Street Project is also welcoming monetary donations or the purchase of 50/50 raffle tickets to support their work. You can give or buy tickets online here.

SCO encourages everyone to support those directly affected by the fire and all our relatives navigating this difficult situation.
