This maquette was originally submitted in 2020 as part of Barsy’s application to the Manitoba Museum’s competition to select an Indigenous artist to create a mural to introduce the new Prairie Gallery. Barsy’s finished work, “Rhythmic Movement in Grasslands,” is a reminder that all life is interconnected and that much is beyond our perception. It features abstracted representations of grassland fauna in an alternate dimension of the prairies now within Manitoba.

This necklace was donated to the Manitoba Museum in 1977 by Madeline Catcheway.
