I have hand-sewn these gloves and did the beadwork using my grandmother Elizabeth Sinclair’s family floral design. The leather is 1/8 inch thick for the body of the gloves and cuffs. The white leather used for the fingers is the same thickness; however, the white leather on the fingers is 1/16 inches thick. The fur used is white rabbit, and the interior is nylon covering wool.
The gloves were created to be worn for style and not work, but each pair is capable of keeping the user warm to -30+ degrees Celsius for average outings. The gauntlet design used to make these gloves is the intellectual property of John Sutherland, and the floral design is the custom imagery of the Sinclair/Sutherland family collaboration.
Eagle Flute
John Sutherland

Little Saskatchewan First Nation
On loan from John N. Sutherland
This flute has a beautiful, earthy tone. It will calm you and your listener in ways you cannot imagine. It will help to de-stress the day if you take the time to breathe.
The flute is hand-carved and stained with tea, ash, and oils. It has a clear coat on it for protection. It is 18 inches long; the eagle has a wingspan of 10.5 inches wide. The wood is northern white cedar with a sliver of spruce. The piece that sits on the air hole (the nest) is called a “bird;” so apropos, it is an eagle on the nest, which is hand-carved from spruce wood.
