As of June 23, 2025, the Southern Chiefs’ Organization will no longer be accepting donations.
SCO expresses gratitude to the many generous donors who dropped off supplies to support the thousands of citizens who were displaced due to fires in northern Manitoba.
As many of our northern relatives are now able to return home, SCO is ending our donation drive effective immediately.
Our offices are full of donated goods that we are working to distribute.
Our hearts are also full, thanks to the generosity and kindness we witnessed from friendly Manitobans as evacuation unfolded!
Your contributions have made an incredible difference in supporting our relatives during this challenging time.
SCO is no longer accepting donations.
Miigwetch, pidamaya ye, and thank you to everyone who supported our donation drive.

“The Southern Chiefs’ Organization cares for our relatives from northern Manitoba and is developing plans to provide support and assistance to the 17,000+ citizens who are being displaced from their homes. Our Mobile Crisis Response Team will provide frontline assistance to evacuees in southern Manitoba,” stated SCO Grand Chief Jerry Daniels. “SCO will start a donation drive to gather the most-needed supplies for the evacuees. On behalf of the 32 Anishinaabe and Dakota Nations that SCO represents, I send prayers for all those who are impacted by these fires. I also extend gratitude to the Chiefs and Councils for your leadership and commitment to your citizens, along with the firefighters, the first responders, emergency management teams, the Red Cross, and all others who are helping to coordinate a response to this emergency.”
We are so grateful to everyone who has so quickly responded to our call for donations to help our relatives from northern and eastern Manitoba who have been displaced by the current wildfire crisis in our province.
