The Southern Chiefs’ Organization (SCO), in collaboration with Southern Chiefs Economic Development LP (SCED), is excited to unveil Miikahnah Connect. This online employment application enables First Nations citizens to apply for work with SCO’s Wehwehneh Bahgahkinahgohn project to transform the former HBC building in downtown Winnipeg.
SCO invites all skilled First Nations trade professionals in Manitoba to take part in this meaningful project, making their mark on Winnipeg’s downtown landscape. SCO is seeking general labourers for demolition and abatement, and future opportunities include mechanical, plumbing, electrical, framing, roofing, painting, flooring, metals, concrete, carpentry, glazing, and more skilled trades, as the project advances through the construction process.
How it works:
Miikahnah Connect is an online employment platform designed to allow First Nation citizens to apply for employment with Southern Chiefs’ Organization’s Wehwehneh Bahgahkinahgohn project—the renovation of the former Hudson’s Bay Company building in downtown Winnipeg. This innovative platform serves as a path to connect construction companies with skilled trade workers from Manitoba First Nations to revitalize Winnipeg’s cityscape.
To become a candidate, you will need to register online, download the Faber Work App, and complete a worker profile.
