International Overdose Awareness Day SCO Youth Poster Contest: Enter by August 29, 2023

August 18, 2023

Make a difference this International Overdose Awareness Day!

International Overdose Awareness Day takes place yearly on August 31 and is a day to remember those we have lost to substance poisoning and acknowledge the grief of those they left behind. This year’s theme is “Recognizing those people who go unseen,” which is meant to acknowledge those affected by overdose that may not be recognized during times of crisis.

We want your help to raise awareness on this day! The Southern Chiefs’ Organization is holding a poster contest for youth aged 15-30 to make a poster that will be used to promote harm reduction, land-based healing, and International Overdose Awareness Day.

Contest guidelines:

  1. This contest is open to all youth aged 15-30 from the 34 SCO member Nations.
  2. Posters should be no larger than 8.5″ x 11″.
  3. Posters should reflect SCO’s harm reduction and overdose awareness goals:
    • Aiming to keep loved ones who are impacted by substance use safe, offering love and support, minimizing the harms associated with substance use, and supporting them on their healing journey.

Our contest is not sponsored by any social media entity.
