Learn About the Pine Creek Residential School: A Free Movie in Winnipeg on Jan 29

The Southern Chiefs’ Organization is sharing information about a free public screening hosted by the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, in partnership with Minegoziibe Anishinabe (Pine Creek First Nation).

Gego Mawikak: A Story of Reconciliation shares the lived experiences of Survivors, families, and community members connected to Pine Creek Indian Residential School, located north of Dauphin, Manitoba.

The documentary follows the uncovering of historical records and lived memories. It tells the story of the search for truth, and the emotional and spiritual journeys of Survivors, families, and communities.

Light refreshments will be available before the program begins.

Members of our SCO Mobile Crisis Response Team will be on site to provide support to anyone who needs it.

Following the screening, documentary contributors will answer questions from the audience.
