Protecting Our Women
Safety Planning for First Nations Women and Girls in Winnipeg
Southern Chiefs’ Organization (SCO) representing 33 southern First Nations in Manitoba has been granted project funding through Status of Women Canada under their theme of “Working in Partnership to End Violence against Women and Girls”.
Southern Chiefs’ Organization will undertake a three year project titled, Protecting Our Women. The main goal of this project is to work with the southern First Nations and community stakeholders in the City of Winnipeg to develop a community Safety Plan and Toolkit for Indigenous women and girls moving to or residing in Winnipeg.

Southern Chiefs’ Organization is proud to present the winning logo design for the Protecting Our Women Project.
Jordan Stranger’s design was selected as it illustrates the strength of Indigenous Women.
The logo will be used throughout the duration of the three year project and in the development of the Protecting Our Women Safety Plan Toolkit.
