SCO’s Indian Residential School (IRS) Research Project supports Survivors and Intergenerational Survivors in searching for their residential school, day school, Indian hospital, tuberculosis sanatorium, and other institutional records. The IRS Project will also assist in locating disappeared First Nations children and in finding unmarked graves.
SCO research staff have expertise in searching Library and Archives Canada, church records, university archives, and vital statistics for birth, marriage and death records, as well as Hudson’s Bay Company records to help locate family members and repatriate family history.
